For the first time in 8 years, 1306 attended a pre-season event! Pre-season events are opportunities for teams to test their robot without the pressure of real competition. They give an extremely early showing of how competitively viable a team’s robot is. Sussuex hosts the largest pre-season event in Wisconsin, which we decided to sign up for this year.
1306 brought a very early version of our robot Abi to this competition. Overall, we had a very strong showing. We scored more coral than just about any other team there. More importantly, we gained insight into key areas that needed improvement on our robot. Mainly, the climber and intake were problems. The intake struggled with ground pickup and the alignment funnel broke frequently. As for the climb… it just didnt’ work.
